More and more families today are looking for something more hopeful for their children than what is traditionally on offer in the education system. Many families feel very frustrated -they are knowledgeable and have a very strong sense of what their child needs but some can feel suffocated. Parents in increasing numbers are deciding to run their own home based programmes. We recognise that running a full time education programme will not appeal to all families, yet most parents want to supplement and offer more to their children. This site therefore has something to offer everyone.
Listed below are some of the services that we can offer to support you:
Practical help in applying for funding and dealing with education authorities -we have helped a number of families to secure funding from their LEA. We can help you construct your case - this can be from analysing the chances of winning an appeal at Tribunal through to constructing the case and writing out evidence to present your case. We have also been commissioned to help parents deal with annual reviews in order to keep their funding. It is important that parents contact us BEFORE they approach their LEA or request a re-assessment (quite often we are called in at a late stage and this makes the case often more time consuming to handle). We also are able to offer a service to parents who want us to go through their statement on a one on one basis and help them secure better services for their child, even if they wish their child to remain at school. Assessments--we can help you define goals in key areas and in planning your programme or we could visit you on an outreach basis (limited availability) and work with you in your home. You could use us to give your programme an 'annual service' to determine any areas where you might benefit from training and guidance - this can be achieved utilising video Problem solving - offering practical help and support to deal with challenging behaviours or in any area of discomfort--helping you find a way to be positive and effective. for both you and your child yet incorporates a powerful educational programme Staff training - practical help on recruiting the best people to work with your child--how to train them, motivate them and keep them, based on our experience of training over 60 people in 11 years Video feedback- by watching a segment of your programme on video we can help you keep on track both attitudinally and educationally. Video feedback can also be used to enhance your training and feedback skills or be used to select any problem areas you may require help with Personal empowerment - helping you to find inner peace and helping your family to live in harmony - learning to be very accepting of your child and who he is as a person, yet to be very focussed on areas where you would like change.
Above all we want to be a source of motivation and inspiration to you, all channelled through a very loving, accepting and supportive attitude and respectful of your choices.
